The School of Energy prepares students for high-demand careers in industrial, electrical, mechanical, and energy-related fields. Programs are designed around the skills required by today’s workforce, with a strong emphasis on hands-on training, troubleshooting, and real-world application.

Students gain experience with electrical systems, automation, instrumentation, mechanical equipment, and industrial processes used across manufacturing and the energy industry. Instruction is aligned with current industry practices and developed in coordination with regional employers to ensure graduates are job-ready.

Flexible scheduling options are available, including day, evening, hybrid, and online courses when appropriate, allowing students to complete training while balancing work and other commitments.

Students can complete a certificate or associate degree in two years or less in Electrical & Instrumentation, Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC), Maintenance Technician, Natural Gas Compression, Petroleum Technology, or Residential/Commercial Electrician. Graduates are prepared to enter the workforce immediately with the technical skills required by industry or continue their education toward a bachelor’s degree.

Programs are aligned with workforce needs across East Texas and surrounding states, where demand for skilled technicians remains strong.
