The Dr. Lillian Cook Endowed Scholarship was established in 2011 by family and friends to honor Dr. Cook for her many years of dedicated service to Panola College.

At the time the scholarship was established, Dr. Lillian Cook was retiring after 42 years of working with Texas students. Dr. Cook taught English and Spanish in Garrison and Plano. She then taught English and Spanish at Panola College for several years before entering the administration. She has served as the Chief Academic Officer for Panola College, first as Dean of Instruction and then as Vice President of Instruction for 12 years.

Dr. Cook stated, “I am very excited and honored to think that students will benefit from this scholarship for years to come. It was my dream to endow a scholarship before I retired. Family and friends have brought this dream to reality. I am very grateful and humbled.”

The Dr. Lillian Cook Endowed Scholarship will be awarded annually.
