The Becky Yarberry Taylor Scholarship was established in 2026 in honor of Becky Yarberry Taylor, a 1976 graduate.

Becky attended Panola Junior College from 1974 to 1976, where she graduated with an Associate in Applied Science degree, majoring in Data Processing. During her time at Panola Junior College, she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Fraternity of the Junior College, Who's Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges, the Press Club, and was elected Secretary-Treasurer of the Student Senate.

With direction from her instructor, Mr. Vaughn Groom, Becky's Data Processing degree served her well in her profession as a computer programmer and systems analyst for more than 30 years, specializing in bank software. Becky was employed by Nacogdoches Computer Services, Texas Commerce Bank, American Data Services of Jacksonville, MCorp/MTech, as well as two Fortune 500 companies, Electronic Data Systems (EDS) and FiServ, retiring as a Senior Systems Analyst.

This scholarship was endowed by the Taylor family and is awarded annually, with preference given to residents of Shelby and Panola counties.
