School of Energy receives $10,342 Workforce Development Grant from MPLX
Panola College’s School of Energy has received a $10,342 grant from MPLX and Marathon Community Investment Programs to support the Industrial Maintenance Alignment Trainer Project, an initiative designed to enhance hands-on technical training and workforce development opportunities for students.
The funding supported the purchase of two V-Tek Machine Shaft Alignment Trainers and two Accushim face-and-rim dial indicator alignment kits. This equipment will be incorporated into a new industrial maintenance course currently under development at Panola College.
The new course will build upon skills students already develop in the existing Pumps and Compressors course, providing additional hands-on training in precision shaft alignment, measurement, and rotating equipment maintenance.
"This investment allows us to expand our training and provide students with valuable hands-on experience using industry-relevant equipment," said Daniel Hall, Department Chair of the School of Energy. "We greatly appreciate MPLX's continued support and commitment to developing a skilled workforce for our local industries."
Panola College extends its sincere appreciation to MPLX and Marathon Community Investment Programs for their generosity and continued investment in technical education and workforce development throughout East Texas.
