Dr. Rebecca Morris named Dean of Career and Technical Programs

Panola College is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Rebecca Morris as Dean of Career and Technical Programs. Dr. Morris most recently served as Dean of Academic Transfer at Panola College, where she provided leadership for academic programs, curriculum development, student success initiatives, and institutional planning.

A proud Panola College alumna, Dr. Morris earned her Associate of Science degree from the College before continuing her education and ultimately earning a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University. She brings nearly three decades of experience in education, including leadership roles in higher education, public schools, and private education. 

“I am honored to step into this new role and continue serving the students, faculty, and communities of Panola College,” said Morris. “Career and technical education creates life-changing opportunities for students, and I look forward to working with our faculty and industry partners to strengthen workforce programs, expand pathways to success, and meet the growing needs of our region.”

Since joining Panola College in 2019, Dr. Morris has served as Professor of Education, Department Chair of Education and Preparatory Studies, and Dean of Academic Transfer. Throughout her tenure, she has championed student success, developed innovative academic pathways, secured grant funding, and supported strategic initiatives that strengthen educational opportunities for students.

In her new role, Dr. Morris will provide leadership and oversight for the College’s career and technical programs, working closely with faculty, industry partners, and community leaders to ensure programs align with workforce needs and prepare students for high-demand careers.
