The Marshall Economic Development Corporation has generously donated $12,074.57 to the Adult Education & Literacy Grant at Panola College. This funding will be used to purchase ChromeBooks and a mobile cart, significantly enhancing digital access for workforce literacy courses in Harrison County.

The technology will support ongoing English as a Second Language (ESL) classes currently offered at Lewis Engineering Co. and Prysmian Group. In addition, the College is preparing to launch new ESL classes at Republic Elite Manufacturing beginning in July.

Heather Hill, Administrative Coordinator for the Marshall Economic Development Corporation, formally presented the donation to Laura Wood, Director of the Panola College Marshall College Center.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Economic Development Corporation for their investment in adult education,” said Wood. “These new resources will allow us to better serve those who are working hard to improve their language skills and job opportunities.”

The partnership between the Marshall Economic Development Corporation and the College reflects a shared commitment to workforce development and improving access to education for the local community.
