All students have student rights, responsibilities, and an avenue for complaint or appeal concerning issues with Panola College. Panola College encourages students to discuss these issues informally with the proper person first, and if they feel necessary for a more formal process then they follow the guidelines and policies set by the Panola College Board Policy.

NC-SARA

The National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) was established to help expand students’ access to educational opportunities and ensure more efficient, consistent, and effective regulation of distance learning programs. NC-SARA recognizes that, as more students take advantage of interstate distance education programs in higher education, quality assurance and oversight must remain a central area of focus.

For more information visit NC-SARA.

Student Complaints

If a student has a complaint about Panola College, the student must first go through the institutional policy (located in the Student Handbook).

If a student is not satisfied with the outcome, that student may file a complaint with the Texas SARA Portal entity (THECB Student Complaints).

Licensure

Before enrolling in an online/distance education program intended to satisfy a particular state’s educational requirements for the practice of a particular occupation, students should be assured by the institution that the program actually does meet the requirements of the state in which he or she intends to practice. SARA institutions are required to provide related disclosures; institutions that participate in federal student financial aid programs must meet similar federal requirements.
