Student Employment

The purpose of the work-study program is to provide work experience and financial assistance to eligible students of Panola College. Under this program a student can work part-time to earn money while enrolled in school. work-study is available for students who are enrolled full-time or part-time (minimum 6 hours/maintain 2.0 GPA). The program encourages work related to a student's course of study, whenever possible. A student must have financial need which is determined by completing the FAFSA application for Federal Aid. The current wage for work-study participants at Panola College is $10.00 per hour. Current participants are paid on a bi-weekly pay period through direct deposit. The maximum work week cannot exceed 19.5 hours; minimum work week will be determined by supervisor and will be scheduled around the students’ classes.

The College work-study program is administered by the Human Resources Office at Panola College. Students seeking employment may apply by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Await notification from the Financial Aid Office of your financial aid status. If awarded financial aid or have financial need and meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements, students should check with the Human Resources Office for current work-study positions available. Current positions that are available will be posted on the Human Resources jobs board as well as listed individually on the Employment website. Interested students may click on Open Positions shown above to review current positions available. The student allocations are determined by the availability of funds received from the federal and state resources and the student's eligibility.

2. Your application packet must include the following:

  • Current resume  
  • Cover letter  
  • Three letters of recommendation (not required for support staff positions)  
  • Official transcripts from an accredited institution. 
  • Transcripts from foreign institutions must be transcribed by a recognized credential evaluation service with a course by course evaluation. We accept evaluations from companies listed on the NACES Website. NOTE: Read #6 below. 

3. If you are applying for multiple positions, please complete an application for each one. 

4. When completing the application, you will be asked to provide personal information such as name, address, telephone numbers, education, employment history, and references. Complete all requested areas. Do not write “see resume”. Sign and date the application. Incomplete applications will not be accepted for consideration.
