Theatre to present two productions on February 21
Panola College Theatre will present two productions on February 21, The Boys Next Door and from Hardscrabble. Tickets will be available at the door prior to each performance for $15.
The Boys Next Door will be performed at 11 a.m. in the Q.M. Martin Auditorium. The heartfelt and humorous play follows four men with intellectual and developmental disabilities who live together in a small-town apartment under the supervision of a dedicated social worker. Through a series of touching and comedic moments, the story explores friendship, independence, and the dignity of every individual.
At 3 p.m., audiences can attend from Hardscrabble in the Elizabeth R. Hedges Studio Theatre. This compelling production brings to life stories rooted in resilience and determination.
Both productions will serve as the College’s entries in the 2026 Texas Community College Speech and Theatre Association Play Festival where student casts and crews from across the state present their work, share their voice, and celebrate the art of storytelling through performance.
The Festival will take place at Panola College from February 25 to 28, with performances held in the Q.M. Martin Auditorium and the Elizabeth R. Hedges Studio Theatre. Six community colleges will participate in the event, and all performances are free and open to the public.
