Seven Panola College music students earn All-State honors

Seven students from the Panola College Music Department have earned prestigious All-State honors, showcasing the exceptional talent within the College’s band and choral programs.

Five choral students – Gabriella Laney, Shelby Plum, Abigail Monroe, Shamiya Black, and Smith Esteves – were selected to perform in the Texas Two-Year College All-State Choir, and two band students, Estrella Montes and Kornellia Hill, earned chairs in the Texas Community College All-State Band. Both ensembles performed at the Texas Music Educators Association Annual Convention in San Antonio in February, one of the largest music education gatherings in the nation.

Selection to these All-State ensembles is among the highest honors a community college music student can receive, recognizing exceptional musicianship, dedication, and performance ability. Panola College is proud of these seven students for their achievements and for representing the College with excellence on the state stage.
