What does it take to get into the program?

The Medical Assisting (MA) Program is an open program.  Once  you have completed all of the requirements for Panola College then there is nothing extra you have to do in order to be accepted to this program.

When do new students start the program?

Students can start in the first semester courses in the fall and spring semesters.

What are the program costs?

When are classes/clinical?

The MA classes meet on Monday and Wednesdays.  The clinical courses go on Tuesday and Thursdays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Is this program face to face or online?

There is some face to face courses and some online courses in this program.  The face to face courses are only offered on the Carthage Campus and are only offered one time.

What is the difference between the certificate and the associate degree?

Certificate is administrative and Associates degree is clinical.  The certificate degree will work only in the front office while the associates degree will be able to work back office.  The certificate is non patient care and the associates degree is patient care.
