Vocational Nursing Program
The VN program is a "closed" program and requires additional application and acceptance into the program. The VN program is offered on the Carthage (fall start) and Center (spring start) campuses. This face-to-face program is taught over three semesters. Clinicals are scheduled during days, evenings, nights, and/or weekends within a 70- mile radius of Carthage Campus or Center Campus.

Vocational Nursing
Promoting Caring and Safety in Nursing
The mission of the Panola College Vocational Nursing Program is to prepare competent, vocational nurses that are knowledgeable, safe and demonstrate a positive and caring behavior. Graduates should be able to care for patients across the lifespan within a standard legal, ethical, and regulatory framework.
The Vocational Nursing Program is committed to the preparation of individuals who will assume the role of vocational nurse and collaborate with the registered professional nurse and other health care professionals in the delivery of quality health care.
The Vocational Nursing Program at Panola College meets the Texas state education requirements to prepare students to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN) for licensure as a licensed vocational nurse in the state of Texas. Panola College has not determined if the Vocational Nursing Program at Panola College meets the state education requirements in any other state or U.S. Territory. Contact the state regulatory agency for nursing in any other state for which this information is needed.

The VN Program offers two extension locations:
- Carthage program begins in August (Deadline is March 1st)
- Center program begins in January (Deadline is October 1st)
Accreditation
The Vocational Nursing Program is an approved Professional Nursing Education Program by the Texas Board of Nursing.
