Panola College is on an industrious mission to better serve local communities and become the best community college in East Texas. The recent years have proven to be a time of significant achievement. The accomplishment of many milestones has been the result of exemplary vision, careful planning and sound implementation. The dramatic transformation of Panola College over the past decade is the result of several positive initiatives, for example new programs, online degrees, significant improvements in student services, upgraded technology, and improvements in student facilities.

Our Panola College milestones and accomplishments include but are not limited to:

  • 2012 - Started work on new 64 person residence hall in November
  • 2012 - Panola College was again a "Digital Community College Survey Winner"
  • 2012 - 9th semester for record enrollment - 2,592
  • 2012 - Great Colleges to Work For (Honor Roll) - The Chronicle of Higher Education
  • 2012 - Former Professor Bill O'Neal named State Historian of Texas
  • 2012 - June 14th marked the 65th anniversary of the creation of Panola College
  • 2012 - Opened two new programs - Medical Assisting and Medical Lab Technician
  • 2012 - Dr. Gregory Powell, President since 2000, was named the 2012 Panola County Citizen of the Year
