Publisher Basics
Learn to create a publication and to work with text boxes and graphic objects. Multiple pages and web pages will be covered. Enhance text with Word Art so you can create posters, brochures, business cards, banners, greeting cards, graphics, and letterheads.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support Class
Course designed for skill development for professional personnel practicing in critical care units, emergency departments, and paramedic ambulances. Establishes protocols for management of the patient experiencing cardiac difficulties.

CNA - Certified Nurses Aid Classes CNA Certification is now REQUIRED for all LVN students. Cost: $397.00 Cost for class includes text and state testing fee. Student must have VALID state PICTURE ID or Driver’s License and Social Security Card and current TB test. Students must be present for all class and clinical time. A background check will be conducted.

The Dental Assisting class prepares students for entry level positions in one of the fastest growing health care positions - Dental Assisting. The Dental Assisting class will cover key areas and topics exposing the student to both classroom and hands-on instruction. The classroom instruction reviews the necessary anatomy, terminology, legal and ethical issues as well as the policy and guidelines necessary to understanding the scope of practice and the practical aspects of dental assisting. Topics include instrument identification, equipment maintenance, tooth structure and oral cavity anatomy, dental anesthesia, sterilization, and charting. The student will learn the steps necessary to assisting the dentist while providing quality dental care within the community. Class includes review of tooth charting, restorations, bridge implants, bitewing, panograph, and periapical x-ray and the mixing of dental cements.
Additionally, this 100 contact hour course includes a CPR certification course and covers the relevant material necessary to prepare students to take the State of Texas “TSBDE” Dental Assisting exam offered throughout the State of Texas. High School Diploma or GED required.

Course provides the student with the skills to function as an EMT. *TB test, Hep. B series of shots and shot records REQUIRED. This comprehensive 50 hour course will prepare students to enter the pharmacy field and take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s PTCB exam. Technicians work in hospitals, home infusion pharmacies, community pharmacies and other health care settings – working under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. Course content includes medical terminology specific to the pharmacy, reading and interpreting prescriptions and defining drugs by generic and brand names. Students will learn dosage calculations, I.V. flow rates, drug compounding, dose conversions, dispensing of prescriptions, inventory control and billing and reimbursement.

Monday & Wednesday Requirements: High School Diploma or GED and upon completion of this comprehensive 50 hour course the student MUST sit for the PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s) exam.
Massage Therapy for Fibromyalgia

Massage affects the body as a whole. This form of drugless or alternative therapy has been shown to give relief from musculoskeletal pain. If you or someone you love has Fibromyalgia, this might be the best class to learn a general foundation of general massage. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing (you will be keeping it on). This class is for the public but massage therapist are welcome to attend to earn CEU credits.
