Description: Applied Music offers musicians private lessons on their respective instruments. Their are two levels of applied music: minor level (one 30 minute lesson weekly) and major level (one 60 minute lesson weekly). All instrumental students majoring in music MUST enroll in one major level applied lesson each semester. Applied lessons are open to all Panola College students in the following areas: flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, french horn, trombone, baritone, tuba, percussion, guitar, and piano.Grading Policy : The semester grade is determined by the successful completion of weekly lesson assignments, recital performance, and jury performance (major level only). Attendance Policy: All students are expected to attend all classes and to report to class on time. Students who miss more than two classes a semester will have their semester grade dropped by one letter for each succeeding absence. Students will be allowed to make-up missed work only in the case of an excused absence.
