Biology 1409 (DL), Biology for Non-Science Majors II 

Course Description:

  • A study of selected topics of biological sciences including all systems of the human body, disease, evolutionary ecology, and man in relation to his environment.  Recommended for non-science majors.   May be taken out of sequence.  (Lab fee)(2601015103)

General Format:

Lecture: Primarily via WebCT and Online Learning Center.

Labs:  Night lab
              ---    usually alternate Tuesdays during long semesters
              ---    usually  8 consecutive Tuesdays in summer
          
            
Labs will include traditional laboratory activities and FUN-FILLED FIELD TRIPS.
            
Come explore the wonders of biology indoors and outdoors.

             Additional lab concepts will be studied by the student through online activities and assigned projects.

A presentation of selected topics in biological sciences including the cell concept, the study of basic chemistry as it relates to biology, an introduction to genetics, cellular processes, and plant and animal reproduction.  Also included is a brief survey of the 5(6) major kingdoms of life.  Recommended for non-science majors (Lab fee) (2601015124)
