Academic or Technical: What's the Difference?

Academic fields of study are degree programs like Accounting, Fine Arts, Kinesiology, Social Science, etc. Technical (or Career) programs focus on technical skills for specific career areas, such as Cosmetology, Vocational Nursing, Associate Degree Nursing, OTA, Computer Information Systems, Welding, etc.

About the Panola College Guidance Program

The primary function of the program is to help students adjust to the college environment as well as to provide academic, career, and technical advising. Student Success Center advisers and faculty advisers also provide referral information and assist students with courses of study, transfer school options, and career planning.
