Panola College Rodeo Program Comes Out Bucking!

Panola County has a rich Western heritage. Its youth have been brought up in a culture of cattle and horses, riding and roping. The county is home to many well-known rodeo athletes and producers such as Terry Williams, 5-Time Professional Bull Riders Stock Contractor of the Year, and Terry Holland, Mighty Bucky inventor and Christian motivational speaker. In addition, Panola County is the home of  Norman Curry, National Finals Bull Riding average winner, Travis Adams, PRCA rodeo clown, and Tye Pride, professional calf roper.

Panola College Rodeo Coach Travis Adams, a seasoned professional bullfighter, joined the PRCA in 1996 and worked the Southeastern Circuit Finals in 2000. In 2006, he worked his first Pace Picante Pro-Rodeo Chute-out as a bullfighter. Adams is recognized for his skill and fearlessness and has saved several cowboys from injury during rodeos.

Panola is currently in the process of recruiting rodeo students for the upcoming semester. The team will compete in the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association along with other community colleges and four-year universities.

Panola College will be offering scholarships; however, the Rodeo Team will not be limited to just scholarship students. All interested rodeo students are encouraged to contact Rodeo Coach Travis Adams at tadams@panola.edu or 903-693-2008 or email Athletic Director Don Clinton at dclinton@panola.edu.

Panola College is a member of the
National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association.
