Panola College Theatre Department to Perform
"Grandpa’s Bedtime Story"
4/7/08

Everyone knows Fairy Tales.  The Wolf is big and bad, the Giant is large and scary, the handsome Prince saves the day, and everyone lives happily ever after.

On Friday, April 18th, and Saturday, April 19th, at 10:30 a.m., the Panola College Theatre department will turn Fairy Land on its ear as it presents “Grandpa’s Bedtime Story,” by William-Alan Landes.

Mom and Dad are gone, and Jenny wants Grandpa to tell her a bedtime story.  He cannot remember how they go, and Fairy Land comes apart.  The Big Bad Wolf is warm and cuddly, the Giant is the smallest person around, Red Riding Hood is captured, the Prince becomes a frog, and everything works out wrong.  How will it end, and who will save the day?

This fun-filled, fractured fairy tale features seven year old Sydney Graves a first grade student at Carthage Primary school, as young Jenny.  The rest of the cast is composed of the talented and experienced actors at the College.  The costumes are colorful and fanciful and are the creative works of Panola theatre students.

Admission is only $1.00 for everyone.  So come, bring the whole family from preschoolers to Grandpa, and have a few laughs.  For more information about the show call the Panola Theatre office at 903-693-2064.
