Keron Jackson to Perform Concert
Keron Jackson, former Panola College student, will return to Carthage Tuesday, September 4 for a recital in Q.M. Martin Auditorium at 7:00 p.m. The popular bass-baritone will perform locally in preparation for the Metropolitan Opera Regional Auditions which will be held in San Antonio in September.
Mr. Jackson says that he feels most at home in Carthage and that it is the best place to come to polish the arias that he has been preparing for this opportunity. Jackson has been studying this summer with John Van Cura, DMA, former professor of voice at Baylor University.
Four of Dr. Van Cura’s voice students have won Metropolitan Opera Regional Auditions and are following careers in singing. Van Cura himself was a winner of this competition.
Johann Acuna will accompany Mr. Jackson at the piano and he will also play violin obligato for one selection. Mr. Acuna is a church music major at Baylor University.
This musical evening features a variety of selections that will please every listener. The public is invited to attend free of charge.
