Six students recently graduated from the FLEX Online option of the Associate Degree Nursing Program at Panola College. These students were the first graduates of Panola College to earn the degree leading to an RN with all of their classes online. The clinical portion is conducted face-to-face but is flexed to weekends and evenings to enable students to continue working a conventional Monday through Friday job. “We’re excited to be able to offer a flexible format of our quality program in order to meet the needs of students” says Dr. Cordell, the Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences.
“The young men and women who graduated recently now have a
respected degree giving them the qualifications to obtain a position throughout
the United States. Panola College is one of only a handful of community colleges
in Texas offering the degree online at this time. Dr. Cordell and her staff and
the distance learning support staff are to be commended for making this
possible,” states Ann Morris, Dean of Distance Education at Panola College.
The second FLEX online cohort started classes in August of 2007 and will graduate in December of 2008. For more information visit the Panola College website at www.panola.edu/instruction/adn
