Panola College Freshman Orientation Set for Aug. 23

Panola College will welcome the 2007-08 freshman class at Freshman Orientation on August 23, at 9:00 a.m. in the Q. M. Martin Auditorium. Freshman Orientation is an informational session that familiarizes students with key personnel and departments that will be instrumental to their success. It also provides new students an opportunity to meet with professors and to get a feel for the layout of the campus.

Classes are scheduled to begin on August 27. Those who would like to attend Panola College this fall still have time to register. The fastest and most popular way is to register online. Students can visit the Panola College website at www.panola.edu for information about the process. Students may register for classes online until midnight on August 26.

Students who prefer a more traditional face-to-face registration process are encouraged to contact the College’s Student Success Center (SSC) to make an appointment to meet with an academic counselor. Students will be able to register for classes at the SSC on Friday, August 24, until 12:30 p.m.

To accommodate students, two special advisement/registration sessions have been scheduled for August 24. These sessions will be conducted at 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. to assist walk-in students who have not yet met with a counselor. Students will receive advisement on course selection and assistance with the application process.  To make an appointment or for additional information, contact the Student Success Center at 903-693-2038.
