Panola College offers new Continuing Education Classes for November and December!
The Panola College Office of Workforce and Economic Development are offering several non-credit courses during the months of November and December. Courses include:
Cosmetology Continuing Education for Operators – Cosmetology professionals with operator’s licenses, now is your chance to expand your business by adding skin care to your regime. Learn the 8-function facial machine, brush up on safety and sanitation, plus get your continuing education hours to be able to renew your license. Join us for a fun, exciting, hands-on experience, lunch included, and a chance to visit with other professionals and share ideas. Sign up now with Panola College to receive your required 12-hour continuing education for license renewal. 12 hr. bundle price- $200.
Deer Sausage Making – If you are wondering how to process that deer you bagged or hope to bag, this class is for you! In this fun 2-hour course you will learn the process involved in making deer sausage. Instructor Cyndi Rutherford will teach the course Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. in the Texas Room. Tuition is $22.
Seasonal Science – Kids, here are some classes designed specifically for you! These classes are an extension of Kid’s College and are offered once every month. You will create a portfolio of fun, interesting lessons, with crafts and surprises in every session. Jill Clinton will present lessons each class from her book TAKSing Your Way Through 5th Grade Science. The curriculum is aligned with the Texas Essentials of Knowledge and Skills that are measured on the 5th grade TAKS test. The December class, That’s Electrifying, will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 4, from 6-7 p.m. in the Merle Glass Building. Tuition is $12.
Mommy & Me – If you are taking your older kids to their Seasonal Science class and would like a class for your younger kids, or if you and your small children are looking for a fun outing once a month, these classes are just right for you. Mommy & Me will be held on the same nights as the Seasonal Science classes and are science classes designed specifically for a younger audience. We will also make portfolio pages each class along with fun, interesting crafts to take home. The December class, Holiday Gifts for Friends, will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 4, from 6-7 p.m. in the Merle Glass Building. Tuition is $12.
Handmade Holiday Gifts – Nothing shows you care more than a handmade gift from the heart. In this fun 2-hour course, Cyndi Rutherford will teach you how to make several holiday gifts perfect for the people you love. The course will be held Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. in the Texas Room. Tuition is $22.
Painting with Lorrie – This class is for beginning and intermediate students alike. Come learn how to paint with Carthage’s very own Lorrie Mandigo. Each class you will paint a different handmade treasure from start to finish and carry it home with you that night. We will offer one class each month, beginning with Handmade Christmas Ornaments on Dec. 13 from 6-8 pm in the Merle Glass Building. Call for prices.
Aromatherapy – This class is being offered to provide students interested in health with an introduction to and overview of clinical aromatherapy for use with self and clients for therapeutic results. Participants will learn how to incorporate this complementary therapy into daily practice to assist with pain management and infection control. Instructor Dr. Barbara Cordell will teach the course Monday, Dec. 17, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. in the Merle Glass Building. Tuition is $90.
