College Foundation to Host Auction

The Making Dreams Come True 2007 auction is scheduled for October 13, at 6:00 pm. at the Panola College Ballroom. Hosted by the Panola College Foundation, the evening will feature auctioneer, Mr. Jack Dillard, and will include live and silent auctions, hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and musical entertainment.

In 2007 the Foundation provided financial support to the College’s health sciences division by assisting with the purchase of Respondus and Studymate software. The software is used in distance learning labs and enables instructors to give secure online tests.  The foundation also purchased 40 new task chairs for the LVN department and computers and workstations for the ADN program. Scholarships established through the Foundation were also awarded to students who needed assistance with tuition and fees, books, or room and board. Funds raised at this year’s event will be used to assist students and to meet the College’s most pressing needs.

“Our Foundation Board has done a great job collecting items for the auction, said Van Patterson, Director of Institutional Advancement. “To date we have been given a round of golf, including carts, for four players at the Pinecrest Country Club, a Benelli 12 Ga. shotgun, dinner for four at the Hawkeye Hunting Club in Center TX, a hot air balloon ride for two, a steak dinner for up to 12 people, prepared and served by Rick Keeling, ‘the best steak cooker in Texas,’ a crystal cake stand, and an opportunity to be President of Panola College for a Day. These are just a few of the items that have been donated.”

“The Foundation was established to support and promote the mission of Panola College,” Patterson continued. “Community support will be vital to the success of this event, so I encourage everyone to make plans to join us. The evening will be fun, the food will be exceptional, and your contributions will make a huge difference in the lives of our students.”
