Two Very Different, Very Merry, Seasonal Celebrations!

The holidays are a very exciting season for all of us, and the Panola College Choir program is no exception!  The Panola College Chorale and Panola Pipers have a thrilling beginning to your holiday season with two very different concerts to celebrate Christmas:  The Pipers’ Christmas in Carthage and the Chorale’s Christmas Candlelight Concert.

A community tradition, the 2007 Christmas in Carthage production, Winter Wonderland, will take place November 29, 30 and December 1. Dinner will begin at 6:30 each evening in the Panola College Ballroom.  Guests will be entertained while enjoying a tantalizing meal in an enchanted winter wonderland setting.  The Pipers will present a mix of traditional and contemporary holiday music, including “Sleigh Ride,” “Slow Dancing in the Snow,”  “Jingle Bells,” and “White Christmas.”  The event will feature an appearance of an awfully frosty character as well!  Reserved seating to this dinner and concert event is necessary and tickets must be paid for in advance at $18 for adults and $15 for students. Reserve your tickets today by calling Division Secretary Dianne Lyle at 903-693-2017.

The following weekend, on Thursday, December 6, at 7:00 pm, the Panola College Chorale will present a traditional and reverent Christmas Candlelight Concert.  Attendees at First Baptist Church will be presented with candles and the opportunity to join the Chorale in some favorite carols.  Along with group caroling, the Chorale will perform Christmas selections that include “A Merry Christmas,” “I Wonder as I Wander,” and “Il est né le divin enfant” (He is Born the Divine Christ-Child).  The Panola College Chorale will be accompanied by organist, Ginger Cook.  Admission for this event is $5 for adults and $2 for students.

Start your holiday season off with a bang by attending two very different, but very merry Christmas celebrations performed by the Panola College Choirs.  Allow us to spark your holiday spirit with Christmas in Carthage and remind you of the reason for the season with the Christmas Candlelight Concert.  We look forward to celebrating with you there!
