SHELBY REGIONAL TRAINING CENTER TO OFFER
PETROLEUM TECHNOLOGY COURSES

Panola College-Shelby County Campus has scheduled a meeting on Monday, May 8th at the Center High School cafeteria in Center, Texas to discuss its new Petroleum Technology classes.  “We have invited key individuals from the Oil & Gas Industry to visit with students interested in working in the field of oil and gas,” said Dr. Joe Shannon, Associate Dean of Instruction.  “Hot dogs and hamburgers will be served beginning at 6:00 p.m. followed by a meeting at 6:30 p.m.  All those interested in learning more about these classes in Petroleum Technology are invited to attend.”

The petroleum technology classes incorporate approximately five categories ranging from Petroleum Technology I-V.  Students will receive hands-on technical training from various gas processors and natural gas compression organizations. The primary responsibility of these organizations is to provide training related to employment for the student during their learning/work experience internship. The internship allows students to apply, in a real world setting, what they have learned during the pervious classroom/lab sessions.

In addition, students will become familiar with the natural gas industry and the competencies that are expected of a professional service technician. For more information please contact Mr. Randy Tidwell at 936-591-9075.
