Fall 2006 Panola College Health Fair

On October 25, the Panola College associate degree nursing class of 2006 will conduct the semiannual Fall Health Fair. The event will be held at the main campus in Carthage, Texas, from 7:30 am to 12:00 pm in the Panola College Fitness Center Gymnasium.

Local businesses and representatives from across East Texas will present the latest information and technology to enhance health and fitness. Visitors will be able to take advantage of free blood glucose and blood pressure checks, biofeedback and chair massages and, from 7:30-9:00am, representatives from the East Texas Medical Center- Carthage will be offering discounted lab work for TSH, thyroid profile (T3 and T4), prostate PSA, diabetes A1C, CBC, CEA, urinalysis, CA-125, cholesterol panel, basic metabolic profile, and comprehensive metabolic profiles. Fasting is required for blood work.

Other activities will include a blood drive in the Ballroom, vision screenings, and a demonstration of the Carthage Fire Department’s new robot. Car seat inspections will be available from the Panola College EMT department and the Department of Health will be providing flu shots for $7, pending the availability of vaccine.
