PANOLA COLLEGE ADDS INNOVATIVE

ONLINE FLEX DELIVERY NURSING PROGRAM

Panola College is now offering an online-based nursing program leading to the RN. The Online FLEX Delivery Program is designed to give students the opportunity to earn an Associate Degree in Nursing through a non-traditional, flexible format with online classes and flexible clinical experiences.  The clinical experience will still be conducted in person, but will be scheduled evenings and weekends.  This innovative delivery system enables students to continue working while pursuing a degree in nursing. 

“In the past, our traditional full-time program for nursing students has not been very flexible for those who need to continue working full-time,” said Dr. Barbara Cordell, Director of Panola College’s Associate Degree Nursing Program.  “We are constantly working to improve the program and are proud to be offering this option for those students.  Hopefully, this will enable more people to enter the nursing field and help to alleviate the shortage of trained nurses.”

Because the FLEX Delivery Program requires students to be very self-directed and highly self-motivated, the admission criteria will differ from that of conventional students.  The first group of students for this innovative program will be admitted in January of 2006.  The deadline for application is October 1, 2005.  For more information call 903-694-4000 or visit the Panola College ADN website: www.panola.edu/instprog-adn.htm .
