PANOLA COLLEGE HOMECOMING SCHEDULED

Alumni, current and former employees, students, and friends of Panola College are invited to attend Homecoming on February 28.

Activities begin at noon when the Ponies compete against Pratt Community College at the College baseball field. Following baseball action, the women’s basketball team will host the Lady Bearcats from Lon Morris College at 2:00 p.m., in the Arthur Johnson Gym. At the conclusion of the game, the 2004 Homecoming King and Queen Coronation will commence, followed by more basketball action at 4:00 p.m. when the Ponies take on long time rival, Lon Morris College.

The Panola College Alumni Association will meet at 5:30 p.m. in the Panola College Student Center. “There is a lot going on at the College that our alumni can be proud of and I hope they take the opportunity to attend the alumni association meeting,” said Van Patterson, Director of Institutional Advancement.

The meeting will be followed by dinner in the College Cafeteria at 6:00 p.m. This is a chance for alumni to reunite and renew old friendships in a casual and relaxing atmosphere. Dress is casual and tickets for the meal can be purchased at the door. Dinner is $8.00 for adults and $6.00 for children under 12.

Following the meal, Professor Mike McGowan will lead the musical Jazz quartet Shades of Blue in a 45-minute program. “Several of our most talented students will be joining Professor McGowan and the Shades of Blue to perform for our alumni,” said Patterson.  “The program begins at 7:00 p.m. in the College Ballroom, and there will be no admission fee for this event.
