Give $100,000 to M. P. Baker Library
in Memory of Mrs. Fay Cassity Allison
On October 28, a $100,000 donation was given to the Panola College Foundation in memory of Fay Cassity Allison by her husband, Conrad Allison, and children Jean Allison Bunyard, Joe Allison, Sam Allison and Charlie Allison.
Mrs. Fay Cassity Allison, born May 14, 1920, was a life-long resident of Panola County. After high school graduation she continued her education and received a teaching degree from Stephen F. Austin State College. She taught school for several years before marrying and becoming a full-time homemaker. She passed away on July 2, 1985.
“Education is a very high priority for our family,” said Mrs. Bunyard. “Each of us has attended Panola College at some time and believes that a contribution to the M. P. Baker Library project is a fitting tribute to our loved one and to the community.”
“Panola College is extremely appreciative for this significant gift given by the Allison family in honor of Mrs. Allison,” said Dr. Gregory Powell, President of Panola College. “This capital campaign to expand the M. P. Baker Library is the single most important project undertaken by the College in decades and we are delighted to have the support of Mr. Allison and his family.”
