PANOLA COLLEGE PROFESSOR TO PRESENT AT INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
Dr. Denise Duzan-Wilkins, Computer Science professor at Panola College, will travel to Washington, D.C. in November to present a paper at an international conference organized by the Association for the Advancement of Computing in Education (AACE) and co-sponsored by the International Journal on E-Learning.
Dr. Duzan-Wilkins will present the findings of her research on the effects of emotional intelligence on enrollment retention in online education at the 2004 E-Learn World Conference on E-Learning in Corporate, Government, Healthcare, and Higher Education.
E-Learn 2004 provides a forum for Government, Healthcare, Education, and Business professionals to discuss the latest research, development, applications, issues, and strategies, to explore new technologies, and to identify solutions for today’s challenges related to online learning. With over 1000 participants from more than 60 countries at this conference, E-Learn has become one of the leading and largest international e-learning conferences and gathering of e-learning and distance education professionals.
Dr. Duzan-Wilkins graduated from Panola College with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Data Processing. She then earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Stephen F. Austin State University. Upon graduation from SFASU, Dr. Duzan-Wilkins began serving Panola College as an instructor. In 1990, she completed her Masters of Science degree in Computer Science at the University of Texas at Tyler and in May 2004, Walden University conferred a Ph.D. in Education on Dr. Duzan-Wilkins.
