DRAMA DEPARTMENT TO PRESENT THE ADVENTURES OF
STUART LITTLE
During March, Panola College hosted 20 different schools
with about 300 students competing in the One Act Play Contests, and 23 schools with about
400 students competing at the Literary Meet.
Liz Hedges, Panola College Drama Instructor commented
UIL One Act Play Contests and the Literary Meet are great opportunities to bring
students from surrounding communities to our campus.
Whether the students win or lose in their various contests, those of us who
have been involved have shown them great hospitality.
I appreciate all the hard work everyone did to make the Literary Meet for
Districts 23 & 24 a great success.
The Drama Department plans to continue to expose students to the collegiate environment by presenting The Adventures of Stuart Little for the childrens show this year.
This time our audience will be younger, but
eventually they too will be looking for a college to attend and we hope that it will be
Panola. Several of my current theatre
students had their first live theatre experience at one of our childrens
performances, said Hedges. Area elementary schools have already made
reservations for 4847 children to attend the daytime performances.
