NATALIE WOODS ADDRESSES CLASS

On Monday, September 29, Natalie Woods addressed Professor Larry Brumley’s Music Appreciation class at Panola College. Natalie is a 1997 graduate of Panola College and the host of “Hot On Austin,” a local television program that showcases new homes in the Austin area.

“Natalie had not seen me since my recent heart attack and wanted to make sure that I was ok,” said Professor Brumley. “Since she is one of our alumni and had taken my music appreciation class, I thought it would be a treat for the students to meet her. I asked if she would speak to the group while she was here and she agreed. Natalie is a great role-model, and the students enjoyed the time they spent with her.”

While addressing the students, Ms. Woods said, “Without Panola College and Mr. Brumley, I don’t know where I would be today. The College provided a caring and nurturing environment that helped me to get a great start. I encourage all of you to take full advantage of your time here.”

While a student at Panola she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, performed with the College Chorale and the nationally known Panola Pipers; was a member of the Drama Club Delta Psi Omega; the Green Jackets, a service organization that serves as goodwill ambassadors for the College; and the Student Government Association.

“On Hot Austin” airs Sunday mornings at 11:00 a.m. on KXAN-NBC channel 4 in Austin, Texas.
