LVN GRADUATES

On December 13, 2002, twenty-nine young men and women graduated from Panola College's, Shelby College Center Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) program. Each successfully completed the program and is prepared to take their State Board exams.

“The year long program combines classroom instruction with clinical training in local doctor's offices, day care centers, nursing homes, the Shelby Regional Medical Center, Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital and Nacogdoches Medical Center Hospital,” said Mary Johannessen, LVN Instructor. “After completion of the LVN program, each of them will take their State Board Examination to receive the LVN nursing license,” added Johannessen.

The Shelby College Center has graduated 131 vocational nursing students since 1997. Each year 36 students are chosen for the program, which begins in January and ends in December. Men and women interested in training to become a LVN should contact the Shelby College Center at (936) 598-2715.
