LOCAL PIANO STUDENTS PERFORM AT PANOLA COLLEGE 

On Sunday, March 2, the Panola College piano department hosted a piano recital at 2:00 p.m. in Q.M. Martin Auditorium featuring area students. 

Piano teachers Terri Blackshear, Kay Hubbard, Joyce Hughes and Elizabeth Morris chose students to perform and represent their studios.  The performers and their selections are as follows:  Lainey Sherman, “Russian Folk Dance” and “Blue Scales”; Taylor Kidd, “Good-bye Old Paint”; Lauren Gibbs, “Come Thou Almighty King” and “This is My Father’s World”; Haley Rushing, “Galway Piper” and “Square Dance and Hoe-Down”; Morgan Brewster, “The Entertainer”; Payton Peace, “Everybody Loves Saturday Night”; Julia Hudson, “Circle Dancers”; Raderrius Colbert, “Rockin’ on 6...Lotsa Rhythm,” “Variation on a Theme by Mozart” and “Malaguena”; Alicia Gibbs, “Little Waltz in E Minor”; Amelia Hudson, “Morning Dew.” 

The program ended with teachers Joyce Hughes and Dr. Karen McBee performing “Hoe-Down” from RODEO written for two pianos.
