COLLEGE CHOIRS TO PERFORM FINAL CONCERT OF THE YEAR

The Panola College Chorale and Panola Pipers will perform their final concert of the year on Thursday, May 1st at 7:30 pm.  The performance will be held in the Q. M. Martin Auditorium. Admission is $3.00 for adults and $2.00 for students.

Directed by Mr. Larry Brumley, the college choirs will present a wide diversity of musical offerings, including a medley of the music of Irving Berlin, a new composition of the text, Agnus Dei featuring soloist, Kathleen White, an English rendition of a lively Russian folk song, a “soft shoe” song and dance selection, and a special tribute to America’s Armed Forces.

The always entertaining and popular Panola Pipers will perform a show entitled, “Only In America”. Their show will highlight such melodies as, “Sentimental Journey,” “In the Mood,  Respect,” “Street Party” and “Turn the Beat Around”.

This concert will be the same program the choir presented recently while touring through the South.  Choir members sang for children in Natchez and Memphis, for veterans in Jackson, and retirees in New Orleans, including Dr. William Stewart, former Surgeon General of the United States.

The Chorale invites everyone to come and enjoy an evening of beautiful music and lively entertainment.
