PANOLA ADN PROGRAM
CONTINUES TO PRODUCE EXCELLENCE
For the third
semester in a row, the students of the Associate Degree Nursing Department at Panola
College earned a 100% first time pass rate on the state board licensure examination to
become registered nurses.
The ADN
Department has doubled its enrollment over the past two years in order to help meet the
nursing shortage in East Texas and now has the capacity to graduate up to 50 nurses each
year. This was the largest graduating class in three semesters with 21 students taking the
state RN examination.
We have enhanced our
testing program to better prepare students for the comprehensive state exam, said
Dr. Cordell, the programs director. Im so pleased
with the continued success of our program. Our
instructors and students have worked very hard to achieve this excellence.
When asked to
comment on the success of Panolas ADN students, Dr. Lillian Cook, Dean of
Instruction replied, We have an excellent staff in our ADN program in fact,
it is one of the best anywhere. As a result, our graduates are sought after in the
workplace."
