PANOLA COLLEGE TO PRESENT SPRING CONCERT

 

 The Panola College Concert Band will present its annual Spring Concert Sunday, April 28, at 3:00 p.m. in the Q. M. Martin Auditorium. 

The concert will include music from Karl King, Handel, folk dances from Israel, the soundtrack music from the animated film "Shrek", and an original arrangement featuring Mrs. Joyce Hughes, soprano soloist. Six members of the Texas Community College All-State Band, Ebony Sheffield, flute; Susie Peveler, clarinet; Elizabeth White, clarinet; Amber Friday, clarinet; Katherine Titterington, bassoon and Joe Patton, bass trombone,  all Panola College Music Majors, will also be performing. 

“Panola College’s Band Director, Mike McGowan is an experienced musician who is very passionate about music. He is able to pass this enthusiasm to his students and as a result, this concert will be a real treat for all who attend,” said Van Patterson, Director of Institutional Advancement. 

Admission to the concert is free to Panola College students and faculty.  General admission is $2.  McGowan’s next project is a Jazz Concert scheduled for May 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the Q.M. Martin Auditorium.
