CARTHAGE
HIGH SCHOOL AUXILIARY TO PERFORM
On February 6, The Carthage High School Auxiliary will be lighting up
center court during both Panola College basketball halftimes. The Fillies game is
scheduled for 6:00 p.m. followed by the Ponies at 8:00 p.m. Carthage students, faculty and
staff with a current CISD ID card will be admitted to the games free of charge. Friends
and family are invited to watch Panola compete against teams from San Jacinto and these
young ladies perform.
Members of the Auxiliary preformed throughout the football
season as a part of the award winning Bulldog Band, under the direction of Jim Jones.
During band camp at Northwestern University, both the twirlers and flags received
outstanding drill group awards.
The twirlers, under the direction of Angie Musgrove, and the
flags under the direction of Cindy Hunt, will be performing routines that entertained fans
throughout the football season this year. According to the sponsors, this has been a great
year and the girls have been a pleasure to work with. The twirlers that will be
participating in this event are Leanna Eastridge, Miranda McDaniel, Esme Thoman, Catherine
Harris, and Kacie Tullis. The flags will be Tiffany Davis, Talisha Hawkins, Georgana Beck,
LeNae Thomas, Shelley Barrett, Heather Hildebrand, Kay Haggard, Christiane Nichols, Simone
Harrison, Keshi Sanders, and Lauren Griffin.
Any young lady interested in trying out for twirler or flag for
the 2002-2003 school year should be preparing now. On March 25, try-outs will be held. The
girls will learn a routine on March 23, on which they will be judged the day of try-outs.
