Endowed Scholarship Opportunities

Providing assistance for all
students to have an opportunity to receive an education is a goal in which everyone can
participate. Currently more than 65% of current students receive some type of financial
assistance. Students are awarded scholarships for
numerous reasons that include financial need, academic standing, or participation in
athletics or with a performance group.
Building On
The First 60 Years
To date Panola College
has raised over $1.9 million in endowed scholarships which are currently being used to
support deserving students all across the institution. We have been blessed to have alumni
and friends make gifts to establish the current 106 endowed scholarships. Endowments are
critical in the life of an institution because the principal is invested and only the
interest is used to provide scholarship support.
Why
Additional Scholarship?
Panola College is
dedicated to providing excellence in education for university transfer students, two-year
technical or vocational fields, remedial courses to improve academic deficiencies and
continuing education course work for those individuals who wish to enrich their lives
through the college experience. Panola College's enrollment is expected to exceed 2000
students in the near future as more and more individuals seek new opportunities through
education. Providing a means to take advantage of these opportunities is what endowed
scholarships are all about.
How Can I
Participate In Giving A Scholarship?
A gift of cash or
appreciated securities may be made to provide a naming opportunity for yourself, or to
honor or remember a loved one. A pledge may also be made over a three-year period to
complete an endowed scholarship. Gifts to existing scholarships may also be made to help
bolster their effectiveness.
