PANOLA COLLEGE SENIOR
DAY 2001
On November 14, Panola College hosted its annual Senior Day. Approximately 500 senior students from area high schools visited the Carthage campus.
After a brief welcome by Panola College President, Dr. Greg Powell and student representative Adam Haney, students enjoyed performances by the College band, the Pipers, and the Panola College Cheerleaders. After the general assembly, students were dismissed to attend career sessions. Students selected from over twenty sessions, each designed to give them time to visit with instructors and ask questions about specific career fields.
At noon, everyone gathered in the Student Center for lunch. Later, students interested in performance scholarships were given the opportunity to audition.
According to Van Patterson, Director of Institutional Advancement, Senior Day is a very important recruiting tool. During this brief visit, we have the opportunity to encourage hundreds of high school seniors to attend Panola College. Without the hard work and cooperation of everyone on campus, this event would not be possible.
