GRAVES AWARDED TJCSGA ADVISOR OF THE YEAR

On April 5, Mr. Randy Graves, Director of Student Activities and Student Government Association (SGA) sponsor, led seven Panola College students to Austin to attend the Texas Junior College Student Government Association (TJCSGA) state convention.

Over 500 delegates, from fifty Community and Technical colleges, were in Austin competing for state and regional offices and learning how local, state and federal governments operate.

Thanks to a lot of hard work, the Panola College SGA was selected to serve as Region III secretary next year, placed second in the state multi-media competition, and Mr. Randy Graves was named TJCSGA State Advisor of the Year.

When asked about the convention, Ms. Jamie Conway, a Panola College student and SGA secretary said, "We all had a blast and appreciate the support of Panola and allowing us to go on this trip. We actually learned a lot about how government and politics work, so it was a very interesting trip. We are very proud of Mr. Graves and are very happy he received the award!"
