Project Belize, RNSG 1193, is an opportunity for nursing students to experience transcultural nursing first-hand in a developing country. Students in good standing may apply each January for the trip in May. Dr. Cordell selects the participants from the pool of applicants and helps get them prepared for an intensive course which will incur travel costs of approximately $1,500. Most of the people we see live in dirt floor, grass huts, and cook over an open fire. They work hard to grow corn and they face many health challenges in their lives. It's a rewarding class for any VN or ADN students who are interested. Please visit www.projectbelize.org for all the information about the mission trip.
