Panola Ponies basketball team lost to Lon Morris in overtime in the Region XIV Tournament on Thursday night, March 3. After holding a strong lead for most of the game, the Ponies saw their lead start to fade as the fouls mounted on starting players. As the buzzer sounded to end regulation play, Panola scored two points to tie the game. Officials reviewed the basket on the video replay monitor, then declared the basket good, sending the game into overtime with a 64-64 score. In the next five minutes, both teams lost players due to fouls, and Panola's final shot attempt fell short, handing the win to Lon Morris. A complete game summary will be posted on Friday.
