The Ponies came back for an exciting 79-74 win against the Trinity Valley Cardinals Wednesday, Feb. 17. With two minutes left in the game, Raschard Boatner knocked in two points to tie up the game 72-72. In the Ponies next possession Boatner put up another two points up for a 74-72 lead. The Cardinals' Darius Gatson answered back with two points to tie up the game 74-74 with 1:10 on the clock. Lorenzo McCloud hit a three-pointer for the 77-74 lead with 55 seconds on the clock. Boatner clinched the win by hitting two free throws with 4.7 seconds on the clock. Boatner led the team with 18 points and three assists. Gary Cox put up 11 points, Lorenzo McCloud had 10, and Gibson Chigbu had 9. In the last six minutes of the game, the Ponies rallied defensively, shutting down almost every attempt by the Cardinals.
