Panola Ponies hope to knock Navarro out of first place today. The doubleheader matchup between first place Navarro and Panola College will start at 3 p.m. at Jim Reeves Memorial Field in Carthage. Panola is currently tied with Angelina and Texarkana for second place in the conference, but a sweep of Navarro today would move the Ponies into first place. The Ponies swept Paris on April 16, winning 5-2 and 2-1, and now hold a 13-7 conference record. Head Coach Todd Shelton plans to start Weldon Davis on the mound in game one. The starting pitcher for game two will be Nick Alexiou. Enlarge Safe at first! The Ponies travel to Lufkin Friday, April 22 to play Angelina College at 3 p.m. and then play at home against Bossier Parish at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27.
