Panola College will host a baseball camp on June 2-4.

The three-day camp will be held at the Carthage Baseball Complex, and will be divided into two sessions. Session one is for players ages 5-12, and will run from 9 a.m. to noon. Session two is for players ages 13 and up, and will run from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Fee for the camp is $75 per player. To register, send checks or money orders to Panola College Baseball, Panola College, Attn: Todd Shelton, 1109 W. Panola, Carthage, TX 75633, or bring the registration form and payment to the Panola College business office in the Miller Administration Building.

"Please pre-register so we will be able to have t-shirts for all participants," said Shelton, Head Baseball Coach at Panola College.

Registration forms have been distributed through area schools, and may also be picked up in the Panola College Bookstore and are available online at Panola Ponies Baseball Camp.

Participants should bring baseball gloves, bats, shoes or cleats. Coach Shelton said participants should also bring sneakers to wear in case of inclement weather.  All personal items should be labeled with the participant's name, and Panola College cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items.

"During the camp, the participants will learn the fundamental skills and drills of the game which have been passed on through the years," said Shelton. "The fundamental skills each participant will learn are fielding, throwing, base running and hitting.
