D.J. Whiting was one of the 40,000 students who attended Passion 2012.

Passion 2012 fights to end world slavery. Passion was founded by Louie Giglio, and takes place during the first week of January in the Georgia Dome.  Passion is a Christan conference for college students ages 18-25 years old.   First Baptist Church of Carthage funded the trip for the students.  The cost of the trip was $400 per student, and they traveled by bus, and van.

The purpose of Passion is to inform and motivate college students on the enlightened fire for Jesus Christ, according to Whiting.  While at Passion, students received messages from different speakers each night.  After each message, the students went into groups called family groups.  Family groups consist of 10 people who get together to discuss each message.  At the end of each night a different Christan band performed.  The Christian band called David Crowder Band performed their last concert during Passion 2012.  Whiting said Passion 2012  motivated him to see Jesus Christ in a bigger picture, and meet fellow Christians.
