Enlarge Come to the next SGA meeting, 12:30 p.m., Friday. The SGA meeting held on January 27 previewed a new aggressive agenda that will be pushed this spring semester. The meeting began strong with Don Clinton, Vice President of Student Services, reporting back about proposals made in the fall about extending the hours of the student center. That proposal was denied. Instead, Clinton reported that all student residents will now have access to the Rodeo Hall lobby which will be furnished with a Ping-Pong table and computers that will be accessible 24/7. Clinton also informed the student governing body of the topics of the board meeting that will be held this month which include bulding new apartments and dorms, constructing a new Health Science building due to the increasing demand for health professional programs, and building a new Student Center and cafeteria. A spring hand-gun class is in the works. A committee was formed to coordinate with Officer Ernie Davis and Criminal Justice Professor Mark Dickerson for further discussion and implementation. A committee was formed to help implement the 5k-Run and the Strongman competition scheduled April 21. The money raised from these events supports scholarships and other school projects. The Blue Man group will perform at the University of Texas at Tyler on February 28-30. Spots are available for student participation. A sign up sheet will be located at the office of Professor Brian Naples. SGA will also draft a letter asking for comedian Bill Cosby to come and perform at Panola College. More details will be coming in the future. SGA meeting are held every Friday at 12:30 in the Community Room in the M.P. Baker Library.
