Enlarge Learn strategies for success. If you're already feeling behind or overwhelmed, it's time to take action. Ann Morris, Dean of Distance Education, will offer "Strategies for Success in the College Classroom" in short-course sessions this spring. She has years of classroom experience, coupled with experience gained through research she's conducted on learning and trends in higher education. The classes will be held from 6-8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. First session will be January 26, January 31 and February 2. The class will be offered again after Spring Break on March 20, 22 and 29. The classes will be held in the Gullette Technology Building. Cost is $50. Students may sign up at Workforce and Continuing Education in the Merle Glass Building. The sessions will include techniques and strategies for note-taking, test-taking, time management and study skills. She will help participants discover their own learning styles, and offer suggestions on tailoring their studying more effectively. "I hope to help participants maximize their strengths and minimize their weaknesses," Morris said. "Whether taking face-to-face or online courses, this class will help students overcome challenges in the college classroom."
